Background

“Europe has only 4 small floating wind farms, totaling 176 MW of capacity,” and further expansion in deeper waters like the Mediterranean remains dependent on consolidating foundation models and scaling manufacturing….

(Wind Europe – May 2023)

“The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) noted, “Despite the strong potential in deeper waters like the Mediterranean, floating wind capacity remains underdeveloped, and significant challenges in infrastructure and investment are holding back faster expansion”…

Inception

Drawing from deep industry expertise, the founders decided to develop a cost-effective solution that not only makes renewable energy affordable but also ensures healthy returns for investors.

So, we creatively rethought the optimal business model that is economically, technically and environmentally sustainable:

  1. Strategic Port: We’ve secured access to a key Mediterranean port near major energy markets like Italy, France, and Spain. This port allows us to safely build and assemble floating wind turbines onshore, avoiding costly installation at sea and eliminating weather-related delays.
  2. Local, Sustainable Materials: Our floating foundations are designed with bio-concrete, an affordable, low-CO2 material that enhances stability at sea. By using locally sourced materials and an efficient construction process, we keep costs down while supporting regional economies.
  3. Scalable Industrialization: We’ve standardized the production of floating foundations for all wind farm projects, allowing for mass production and greater efficiency. Our solution remains flexible, adapting to any turbine technology or foundation material needed.

Oristano CAP: A Blueprint for Global Success

Our flagship project in Oristano, Italy, demonstrates the power of this approach—and it’s just the beginning. With public and private funding opportunities in place, we’ve built a model that can be replicated anywhere in the world, bringing sustainable, affordable wind energy to new markets.

At OCAP, we’re not just building wind farms—we’re creating a future where renewable energy is accessible, profitable, and scalable.
